【3学年】Darren先生による英語コミュニケーションⅢの授業
クラーク国際では生徒が主体的・協働的に学ぶことができる授業を展開しています。また、午前中の「英語コミュニケーション」の習熟度別授業は、ネイティブ教員も担当しています。今回はイギリス出身のダレン先生が3年生と行った、「お気に入りの都市／ランドマーク／場所について説明する活動」をご紹介します。
Describe Your Favorite City/Landmark/Location Activity
From Lesson 1, I decided to plan a small project based on describing cities, countries, landmarks and nature. The plan was to get the students to write and plan a presentation about their favorite landmark. I feel that expanding their vocabulary bank with a range of new adjectives and expressions will help them write better content.
今日の授業では、教科書の有名なランドマークや建物に関する単元から、都市、国、ランドマーク、自然を描写することに基づいた小さなプロジェクトを計画しました。生徒たちは自分の好きなランドマークについて文章を書き、プレゼンテーションする内容を考えます。さまざまな新しい形容詞や表現を使って語彙を増やすことは、生徒がよりよい内容を書くのに役立つと感じています。
Singing and working together
As a warm up activity, we listened to the song “We Built This City” with a gap fill activity. They really enjoyed this famous song by Starship. As the theme of my idea is based around locations, the song contains some useful terminology. It was fun singing and working together as a class today. It boosted their energy levels, and students were engaged.
ウォームアップのアクティビティとして、「We Built This City」の歌を聴きながら、ギャップを埋めるアクティビティを行いました。スターシップの有名な曲で、生徒たちはとても楽しんでいました。私のアイデアのテーマが場所を中心にしたものなので、この歌には役に立つ専門用語が含まれています。今日クラスで一緒に歌い、活動するのはとても楽しかったです。エネルギーが高まり、生徒たちは夢中になっていました。
Describing famous locations in THREE words
I showed them some famous locations around the world on the slide show and students had to describe them in 3 words. In the next lesson, they will start planning their written presentations and research their favorite location.
