【国際コース】「Production」授業　～プロジェクト学習の成果を発表～

　国際コースの「Production」授業では、生徒たちが社会の大切な課題を選び、解決に向けて行動します。

今年、あるグループはこんな素朴な疑問からプロジェクトを始めました。

「どうしてお母さんはいつも疲れているのだろう？」

　調べていく中で、生徒たちは驚く事実を知りました。日本の母親は、G7の中で最も多く家事をしており、さらに生活満足度が最も低いという結果が出ていたのです。そこで生徒たちは、「何かできることはないか」と行動を起こしました。

　他の生徒たちと協力し、子どもたちに家事の大切さを伝えるゲームを開発しました。この活動を通して、日本の母親が家事にかける時間を少しでも減らすことを目標にしています。

　この「Production」授業の大きな特長は、時間をかけて学び、挑戦し続けられることです。国際コース独自のプロジェクト型学習では、1年以上同じテーマに取り組むことが可能です。学年にとらわれず、必要なスキルをじっくり身につけながら、社会に前向きな変化を生み出すことができます。

　国際コースでは、世界について学ぶだけでなく、世界をより良くする力を育てています。

The Power to Make a Difference

In the International Course Production Class, students choose an important social issue and work together to find real solutions.

This year, one group started with a simple question: “Why are our mothers always so tired?”

Through their research, the students discovered something surprising. In Japan, mothers do more housework than women in any other G7 country, and they also report the lowest level of life satisfaction. After learning this, the students decided they wanted to take action.

They worked with other students to create a game that helps children understand the importance of housework. Their goal is to raise awareness and help reduce the number of hours mothers in Japan spend doing housework.

What makes this project—and the Production Class—so exciting is that students have the time to keep working, keep learning, and keep improving their ideas. Thanks to the International Course’s unique project-based learning system, students can continue the same project for more than one school year. This allows them to build real skills and make meaningful changes, without being limited by the school calendar.

In the International Course, students don’t just learn about the world—they learn how to change it.
