【国際コース】　「Communication」授業　～Finding Your Voice～

　すべての旅には、最初の一歩があります。「Communication」授業・レベル1の生徒たちにとって、その一歩はここから始まりました。新しい顔、新しい名前、そして自分のものにしようとしている言語に満ちた教室の中で。

　この最初の授業で、生徒たちは英語で自己紹介をするという挑戦に取り組みました。別の言語で自分自身を表現するための言葉を見つけることには、簡単ではありません。しかし、コミュニケーションの瞬間、言語はよそよそしいものではなくなり、少しずつ身近なものへと変わり始めます。

　また、学びはそこで終わりませんでした。生徒たちは、記憶するという技術の一端にも触れました。周りにいる人々の名前や情報をどのように頭の中に留めておくか、ということです。一部の文字が抜けた単語をヒントとして使いながら、生徒たちは記憶を鍛える最も効果的な方法の一つを発見しました。そして、どんなスキルも、訓練と繰り返しによって成長します。

　それぞれの生徒がどこからスタートしても、この授業は一つのことを思い起こさせてくれます――出発点が、目的地を決めるわけではないということを。大切なのは、ここに来て、挑戦し、そして何度でも挑戦し続ける意志を持つことです。

　最初の言葉が、語られました。旅が、始まりました。

Every journey has a first step, and for the students of Communication Skills Level 1, that step began here — in a classroom full of new faces, new names, and a language waiting to be made their own.

In this first class, students took on the challenge of introducing themselves in English. Simple as it may sound, there is something deeply personal about finding the right words to describe who you are in another language. It is in these early moments that the language stops being something foreign and begins to become something familiar.

But the learning did not stop there. Students were also given a glimpse into the art of remembering — how to hold on to the names and details of the people around them. Using prompts with missing letters, students discovered one of the most effective tools for building memory: the gentle push of a partial word that asks your brain to do the rest. Because memory, like English itself, is a skill. And like any skill, it grows through training and repetition.

No matter where each student begins, this class is a reminder that the starting point does not define the destination. What matters is the willingness to show up, try, and try again.

The first words have been spoken. The journey has begun.
