【インターナショナルコース】ニュース取材／ニュース番組づくりに挑戦！

クラーク国際 東京キャンパスのインターナショナルコースでは、8月28日に、お台場にある体験型英語学習施設 TOKYO GLOBAL GATEWAY （TGG）Blue Oceanを訪れました。ここでは、各グループに１人のイングリッシュスピーカーのエージェントがつきます。まるで本当に海外にいるような体験型の英会話アクティビティに参加することができます。今年は新たに、生徒たちはニュース取材／ニュース番組づくりにも挑戦しました。

A field trip to Tokyo Global Gateway Blue Ocean

This beautiful facility has many staff working from all over the globe. Here our students get a rare opportunity to communicate with these people from many different English-speaking countries. These encounters teach all of us many things about each other and broaden our perspectives on humanity.

この美しい施設には、世界中から集まった多くのスタッフが働いています。ここで生徒たちは、さまざまな英語圏の国々から来た人々と交流する貴重な機会を得ました。こうした出会いは、私たち全員が互いについて多くのことを学び、人間に対する視野を広げるきっかけとなります。

Immersive experience

There are many different stations designed to give you the experience of traveling to different countries. You can fly on an airplane, broadcast in a Television Studio, work in a science lab, and much more. For those who have never been abroad, this creates the opportunity to try using English in a pretend situation, to get your feet wet in being a traveller.

さまざまな国への旅を体験できるよう設計された、多種多様なステーションが用意されています。飛行機に乗ったり、テレビスタジオで放送を行ったり、ラボで実験したりなど、さまざまな体験ができます。海外に行ったことがない人にとっては、これは模擬的な状況で英語を使ってみる機会となり、旅行者としての第一歩を踏み出すきっかけとなります。

An opportunity to apply the English skills developed in class

First, we learned about news writing and reporting techniques, and then we had a hands-on interview experience. Next, we worked in groups to organize our material and wrote English-language articles that conveyed the main points. Finally, we gave presentations and shared feedback.

まず、ニュース記事の執筆や取材のテクニックについて学び、その後、実際に取材を体験しました。次に、グループに分かれて取材内容を整理し、要点を盛り込んだ英語記事を執筆しました。最後に、制作した記事を発表しあい、互いにフィードバックを交換しました。TGGのイングリッシュスピーカーとスタッフの皆さん、今年もありがとうございました！
