【国際コース】　新入生を歓迎　～ツリーセレモニーを実施しました～

　国際コースの年度初めには、必ず新入生を歓迎するセレモニーが行われます。これが「ツリーセレモニー」です。式の前に2、3年生は1年生と一緒に今年の目標を書き出します。今年の目標は、「映画を字幕なしで見る」、「英検準2級に合格する」、「ネイティブの先生とスムーズに話せるようになる 」などでした。

　そして、1年生と2人の先輩が、国際コースの生徒全員に目標を発表。こうすることで、目標に向かって勉強している仲間同士、支え合うことができるのです。

　語学の習得は、簡単なものではありません。しかし、毎年ツリーセレモニーを行っているため、国際コースの生徒にとって、英語を学ぶことは、支え合い、励まし合うコミュニティの一員になることでもあるのです！

At the beginning of the year in the International Course, we always hold a welcome ceremony for the new students. This is our “Tree Ceremony”. Before the ceremony the 2nd and 3rd year students work with the first year students to write out a goal for the year. This year some of the students goals included, “Watching a movie without subtitles,” “Passing the EIKEN Grade Pre-2 test,” and “Being able to speak smoothly with the native English teachers.”

Then a 1st year student and two of their sempais announce their goals to all of the International Course students. This way, all of the students can help support each other as they study and try to reach their goals.

Learning a language can be a slow and difficult process. But because we have our yearly Tree Ceremony, for the International Course students, learning English is also about being a member of a supportive and encouraging community!
