【国際コース】「Drama」授業　～モノローグ（独話）で英語の表現力をアップ～

　新年度が始まり間もなく1か月。専修クラーク札幌大通校の特化したコースの教育も始まっています。国際コースでも「Drama」授業がスタートしました。
　「Drama」の授業では、英語の台本に沿って練習して、発音やイントネーションがよりスムーズにできるようになろうとするものです。そして、今年度の1学期のレベル３の「Drama」は、生徒たちが英語のモノローグ（独話）を試すことになります。少し長い話を一人ですることなので、台本の暗記、動きやジェスチャー、声質やイントネーションなど、全ては自分で決めて自分で整えなければならない。それを成功させるには、モノローグのキャラクターになりきることが非常に重要です。
　これらの取り組みが英語力とジェスチャーなどの普遍的な表現力を共にレベルアップさせていきます。

This week, Clark Vocational School’s specially developed course classes have finally started! One of the classes on the International Course is Drama. In Drama class, students practice using English scripts to improve their pronunciation, intonation, and overall spoken fluency. In this year’s 1st semester Level 3 Drama class, the students will try learning and performing English monologues. As this is a slightly long script that must be performed alone, students need to not only learn their script, they also need to decide appropriate gestures, movements, emotional inflection, and intonation by themselves. In order to do this well, they will need to really build an image of the character they are trying to portray in their monologue. By doing so, their spoken fluency and expressive range in English will improve, as well as universal expression skills such as gesture and body language.
