【国際コース】　「Communication」授業　～英語のビデオブログ動画の観察～

　国際コースの「Communication」授業は、PBL（Project Based Learning – プロジェクト学習）というカリキュラムに沿って実施されています。一つの学期に通してプロジェクトの実践で英語力が自然に身についてくるのが目標です。
　今学期、レベル１（初級）の「Communication」授業で実施するプロジェクトは、ビデオブログやSNSで使えそうな自己紹介動画を作成することです。本日の授業は、第一歩として英語のインフルエンサーなどのビデオブログにおける自己紹介動画を実際に見てみました。見た後、グループに分かれて、その作者が動画で何を伝えたかったか、その情報をどういう風に伝えたか、そしてそれが実際に上手く伝わったかということを話し合いながら、動画の内容を分析してみました。最後に、それを参考にしながら、自分の動画の内容に関して考え始めました。

The International Course’s ‘Communication Skills’ class follows a PBL (Project Based Learning) curriculum. Every semester students complete a long project, and in doing so their language and communication skills will naturally improve. This semester, the Level 1 (elementary level) group’s project is to make a self-introduction video in English that would be suitable for use on a vlog or social media account. As a first step, today students watched real self-introduction videos made by vloggers and online influencers. After watching, they divided into groups and discussed what each video maker talked about, how they talked about it, and whether we thought that talking about it in that way was effective. Then, thinking about what they had discussed, the students started planning what they would talk about in their own videos. Everyone is looking forward to the next step in the project!
