【国際コース】　高文連全道英語プレゼンテーションコンテストに参加　～高めた英語力を試す機会～

　札幌大通校、国際コースの生徒たちは「北海道高等学校文化連盟 第12回全道高等学校英語プレゼンテーションコンテスト」に出場しました。出場メンバーは、1年生と2年生のみで構成されたチーム。4月中旬から準備をスタートし、チームで協力しながら一生懸命に取り組みました。

　今年のテーマは、「当該学校が所在する市町村を、次世代の子どもたちにとってより住みよい環境とするための施策」でした。クラークのチームは、VR（仮想現実）、AR（拡張現実）、そしてハプティクス（触覚技術）を使って、若い世代が外科医や救急隊員などの仕事をリアルに体験できる『ハイテク職業体験イベント』というアイデアを発表しました。プレゼンの内容はとても興味深く、メンバー同士のチームワークも抜群でした。発音もスムーズで、まるでプロのような発表でした。

　今回は惜しくも入賞には届きませんでしたが、大きな舞台での経験は、チームの全員にとってかけがえのない学びとなりました。生徒たちは、来年のリベンジに向けてすでにやる気満々です！

This year, the Clark International Course students participated in the All Hokkaido Presentation contest. This year’s team consisted of only first and second year students and they started preparing in the middle of April. This year’s topic was ‘how can you make your city, town, or village a better place to live for the next generation.’ The Clark presentation team came up with a plan for hi-tech job experience event which would let young people us VR, AR, and haptics to have real life work experiences for jobs such as surgeon or emergency first responder. The content of their presentation was interesting, they worked well together as a team, and their pronunciation was smooth and professional. While they were not able to receive a prize this year, they got valuable experience and they are all looking forward to participating again next year.
