【国際コース】　「Production」授業　～未来につながる英語試験～

　国際コースの「Production」授業では、今年度最初の“英語の試験”に向けて準備が進んでいます。でも、この試験はふつうの英語テストとはちょっと違います！

　「英語のテスト」と聞いて思い浮かべるのは、単語テストや文法の問題かもしれません。しかし、「Production」授業では、英語を学ぶと同時に、貧困・気候変動・人種差別など、社会が抱えるさまざまな問題についても考えています。

　そのため、このクラスの試験は、ペーパーではなく“プレゼンテーション”。1学期に学んだことをもとに、2学期に取り組みたいプロジェクトを考え、それを英語で発表します。

　このように、国際コースでは「学ぶことは終わらないアクション」だと考えています。試験も過去をふり返るだけではなく、「次につながる一歩」になるのです。

In the International Course’s Production Class, students are getting ready for their first exam of the school year. But this is not your usual English test! When most people hear the words “English exam,” they think of vocabulary lists or grammar questions. But in this class, things are a little different.

Production Class is a project-based class where students learn English while thinking deeply about real-world issues like poverty, climate change, and racism. The goal is to understand how these problems affect people—including themselves—and how they can make a difference.

That’s why the exam isn’t a paper test. Instead, students give a presentation about a project they want to do in the second semester. They use what they’ve learned so far to plan a new project for the future.

This kind of exam helps students reflect on what they’ve learned, but also look forward. In the International Course, we believe that studying isn’t just about looking back—it’s about using your knowledge to keep growing.
