【国際コース】　「Communication」授業　～生徒たちのオリジナル言葉遊びゲーム～　

　今日、国際コースの「Communication」授業、レベル2のクラスでは、生徒たちが放課後の自由時間に作って遊んでいる言語ゲームをしました。下の写真では、ホワイトボードの上に母音、左側に子音が並んでいます。生徒たちはチームを組み、母音と子音の両方を含む単語を考えなければなりません。

　しかし、このゲームで本当に難しいところは、各チームが音節の多い単語により多くのポイントを獲得することです。英語の音節と日本語の音節は大きく異なるため、生徒たちはそれぞれの単語を声に出し、アクセントやリズムを考え、良い単語かどうかを判断して空欄を埋めていきます。

　発音の練習、語彙力の向上、そして楽しい時間を過ごすことができました。そしてこのゲームの一番いいところは、生徒たちが自分たちで作ったということです。これは国際コースの醍醐味のひとつです。

　生徒たちは、楽しくて面白い英語の勉強法を見つけることで、モチベーションを維持し、毎日学習することができるのです！

Today in the International Course Communication Skills level 2 class, we played a language game which the students made up and have been playing in their free time after school. In the photos below, on the top of the white board you can see a row of vowel letter, on the left side of the grid, you can see a row of consonants. The students formed teams and had to think of a word which contained both a vowel and a consonant.

But the real tricky part of the game was each team received more points for words that had more syllables. Syllables in English are very different from syllables in Japanese, so students had to really say each word out loud, think about the accent and rhythm of the word, and decide if it was a good word to say and fill in the grid.

This was a great way for students to practice pronunciation, improve their vocabulary, and just have a good time. And the best part of the game is that the students had created the game by themselves. That’s one of the best parts of the International Course, students find fun and interesting ways to study English that help themselves stay motivated and learning every single day!
