【インターナショナルコース】PBL（プロジェクト型学習）レベル3：アートギャラリー訪問

クラーク国際 東京キャンパスのインターナショナルコースは、英語力、ほかの文化を理解する力、世界の課題に取り組む力を育成するコースです。インターナショナルコースでは、今年度からプロジェクト型学習（Project-Based Learning）を取り入れた新しいカリキュラムを開始しました。今回はAdam先生が、レベル３の校外学習の様子をご紹介します。

The Art of Emotions

For this Unit of our PBL / Project Based Learning, our task was to visit an Art gallery and report on a painting that resonates with us. I searched for a suitable gallery in Tokyo. I finally found a gallery that was at a reasonable distance from our campus. It was free for students to enter, and was showcasing artwork suitable for our assignment.

このPBLユニットでは、アートギャラリーを訪れ、心に響いた絵画についてレポートすることが課題でした。まず東京で適切な画廊を探し、私たちのキャンパスから適度な距離にあるギャラリーを見つけました。生徒たちは無料で入場でき、課題に合った作品を展示していました。

Sharing passion for art

For this field trip, we visited a gallery that is exhibiting one of our own Clark teacher’s paintings, my own. To share my passion for art with my students is a dream come true. Some students couldn’t believe I was an artist, but were delighted to hear the stories about specific paintings, and learn that the art depicted my family and neighbourhood.

今回の校外学習では、私の絵を展示しているギャラリーを訪ねました。芸術への情熱を生徒たちと分かち合うなんて、夢のようです。 なかには、私が芸術家であることを信じられなかった生徒もいました。具体的な絵についての話を聞いたり、その絵に私の家族や隣人が描かれていることを知ったりして、とても嬉しそうでした。

Presentation next week

Next the students will present their reports. They will include a description and rough sketch. What I am very interested in learning is how the art work made them feel.

生徒たちは来週、レポートの内容を皆の前で発表します。説明文とラフスケッチを添えます。作品が生徒たちにどのような印象を与えたかということに、とても興味があります。
