【インターナショナルコース】オープンキャンパスにてハロウィーンパーティーを実施しました
今回、オープンキャンパスにおいてハロウィーンパーティーを行いました。その様子を今回はネイティブのAdam先生がお伝えします。
Decorate the classroom with original spooky art
It’s that time of year when the leaves change from green to red, orange, and yellow. The days are getting cooler, and darker. This marks the time for a Halloween party. For our open campus lesson, we decorated the classroom with original spooky art to celebrate a holiday that originated in Ireland.
As the visitors entered they were put into teams. This put me in mind of the sorting hat in Harry Potter. Instead of Gryffindor, or Slytherin we had teams based on the elements; Earth, Air, Fire, Water, Wood, and Metal.
Halloween trivia game from very easy to extremely difficult
The teacher performed some magic tricks for our guests. Then the students warmed up their English abilities with some ice-breaker questions. After they got to know each other, the students participated in a Halloween trivia game. There are levels of questions ranging from very easy, to extremely difficult.
This activity gets our visitors standing in front of everyone listening to and speaking English. It also tests their knowledge of obscure Halloween facts. Some of the categories included Pumpkins, Frankenstein, Culture, Movies, Costumes and more. To participate it takes a bit of courage, and everyone succeeded.
この活動では、参加者が全員の前で英語を聞き、話す機会を得られます。また、あまり知られていないハロウィンの知識も試されます。カテゴリーにはカボチャ、フランケンシュタイン、文化、映画、衣装などが含まれていました。参加するには少しの勇気が必要ですが、全員が話すことが出来ました。
Halloween Fun and Sweet Memories
The teacher was really impressed when they answered with some very obscure Halloween knowledge.
When it was time for them to leave, the teacher gave them each an activity booklet. This has various English activities, Halloween movie recommendations, and a big spot the difference. A Halloween party would not be complete without snacks. Each guest chose a couple of their favourite sweets to take with them. Everyone involved had a great time. We are already looking forward to next year’s adventure!
彼らが非常にマニアックなハロウィン知識で答えた時は本当に感心しました。帰る時間になると、私は参加者全員にアクティビティーブックレットを配りました。中には様々な英語のアクティビティやハロウィーン映画のおすすめ、大きな間違い探しが載っています。ハロウィーンパーティーにスナックは欠かせません。ゲストは各自、お気に入りのキャンディを数種類選んで持ち帰りました。参加した全員が楽しい時間を過ごしました。もう来年の冒険が待ち遠しいです！
