【国際コース】　世界とつながる！　～クラーク生が模擬国連に参加～

　今年、国際コースの生徒たちは、「模擬国連（Model United Nations：MUN）」という特別なプログラムを通して、国際関係について学びました。この授業では、生徒一人ひとりが世界の国の代表となり、その国の歴史、他の国との関係、そして社会問題や環境問題について英語で調べ、発表しました。

　その中から、インターナショナルコースの生徒3名（熊井さん、川端さん、橘さん）が、日本最大の英語模擬国連会議「JEMUN（Japan English Model United Nations）」に参加する代表として選ばれました。JEMUNは近畿大学で開催され、全国のトップレベルの高校生や大学生が参加する大会です。

　3人は世界の課題について真剣に話し合い、3日間英語だけでディスカッションを行い、多くの学生と交流しました。夜にはDJダンスパーティーやガライベントもあり、とても充実した体験になりました。

　このような特別な経験を通して、国際コースの生徒たちは、「英語を学ぶことの楽しさ」と「英語が本当に役立つ」という実感を得ることができました。

This year, students in the International Course learned about world issues through a special program called Model United Nations (MUN). In this class, each student acted as a representative of a different country. They studied the country’s history, relationships with other nations, and how it is dealing with social and environmental problems.

Three students from Clark Sapporo-Odori were chosen to take part in the JEMUN (Japan English Model United Nations) Conference at Kindai University. JEMUN is the biggest English MUN event in Japan. Most of the participants are from top high schools and universities across the country, so it was a great honor to join!

We are very proud of Kumai-san, Kawabata-san, and Tachibana-san for all their hard work. They spent three days speaking only in English, discussing global topics, and meeting students from all over Japan. They even enjoyed a DJ dance party and a formal gala event!

Special experiences like this show why studying English in the International Course is so exciting. It’s not just about textbooks—students use English to connect with the world!
