Extensive Reading – International Course

Nowadays, International Course students are showing great interest in both international and domestic news. Each student selects an article that captures their attention. In addition to reading the article itself, they also explore the “Comments” posted below.
Students are then challenged to form their own opinions about the story and share their ideas with classmates. Finally, they create their own “comment” as if they were responding online.
Because students choose the articles themselves, the activity doesn’t feel like homework. Instead, it becomes an enjoyable way to practice reading and discussion while engaging with real-world topics.

最近、インターナショナルコースの生徒たちは、国際ニュースや国内ニュースの両方に強い関心を示しています。生徒それぞれが自分の興味をひく記事を選びます。記事本文を読むだけでなく、その下にある「コメント」にも目を通します。
そのうえで、生徒たちは記事について自分の意見を考え、クラスメイトと共有することに挑戦します。最後に、実際にオンラインで投稿するかのように、自分自身の「コメント」を作成します。
記事を自分で選ぶことで、この活動は宿題のように感じません。むしろ、現実の話題に触れながら、リーディング力やディスカッション力を楽しく伸ばせる活動になっています
