Adam先生によるアートの特別授業
先日の特別時間割では、ふだん英語コミュニケーションの習熟度Sクラスや、インターナショナルコースの授業を担当しているアダム先生が、アートの授業を展開しました。1, 2学年合同で実施したその様子をお伝えします。
Fun, learning, creativity, and making new friends
To lift students’ spirits and give them a lesson where they can connect with each other and enjoy their time, I prepared an Art based lesson. Being an artist and having years of art teaching experience this was an absolute pleasure to do.
生徒の気分を高揚させ、互いに繋がりながら楽しい時間を過ごせる授業を提供したいと思い、美術を基にした授業を準備しました。アーティストとして、また長年の美術指導経験を持つ者として、これは本当に楽しい取り組みでした。
Wild-looking monster drawings
Frist, we reviewed body parts and adjectives in English. Then we drew on a folded piece of paper and passed it to our neighbors. This way the new artist can only see where to connect the body parts but can’t see what the previous person has drawn. Everyone contributes to the creation of a creature. The fun part is the end when we reveal our wild looking monster drawings.
ウォームアップの描画活動として、モンスター画を描きました。まず、英語で体の部位と形容詞を復習しました。次に、折りたたんだ紙に描き、隣の人に渡しました。こうすることで、新しいアーティストは体の部位をつなぐ場所だけが見え、前の人が描いた部分は見えません。全員が生き物の創作に貢献します。楽しいのは最後で、ワイルドなモンスター画をお披露目する瞬間です。
Mashup activity
For the main drawing activity students vote on what two images they will combine in a mashup activity. This drawing requires a sense of creativity, as to how they will combine the two different images into one. After the time limit is reached, everyone has a chance to show off and see what everyone else has created.
メインアクティビティでは、生徒たちがマッシュアップ活動で組み合わせる2つの画像を投票で決定します。異なる2つの画像を1つに融合させる方法には創造性が求められます。制限時間後、全員が作品を披露し、他の生徒たちの創作を鑑賞する機会を持ちました。
Going beyond the comfort zone
These lessons give the students a chance to practise English, and an artistic experience. Everyone stepped out of their comfort zone just a little bit, and had a lot of fun doing so.
これらの授業は生徒たちに英語を練習する機会と芸術的な体験を提供します。全員がほんの少しだけ自分の居心地の良い場所から踏み出し、その過程でとても楽しんだようでした。
