【探究学習成果発表会】Upper Presentation – Presentation Day

クラーク国際東京キャンパスインターナショナルコースの Upper Presentation というクラスをご紹介します。このクラスでは、生徒自身が社会課題を見つけ、その課題を解決するために社会に飛び込み、人々とつながり、チームで協力して年間を通じて探究します。そして、困っている人が笑顔になるような社会への変化を、英語でのプレゼンテーションで提案します。今日はこの授業を担当するアリソン先生が、先日の成果発表会 Day 1での様子をお伝えします。

Quest Cup – Social Change English

In preparation for the Questcup Social Change English Competition, the International Course Upper Presentation students have been finalising their posters and presentations. This year has been something of a rollercoaster for the class, with several changes in teachers throughout the year.

インターナショナルコースの木曜日の選択授業『Upper Presentation』の生徒たちは、探究学習の成果発表会での、英語でのポスターセッション発表資料の最終調整を進めてきました。今年度は担当教員が複数回交代するなど、クラスにとっては紆余曲折の年となりました。

Perseverance and continued effort

Despite this, the students are to be commended for their perseverance and continued effort in producing a strong final product. On the Clark Research Presentation Day, the students dedicated 40 minutes to presenting their posters to fellow students and parents.

それにもかかわらず、生徒たちは粘り強く努力を続け、力強い発表資料を完成させた点で称賛に値します。東京キャンパスでの探究学習成果発表会では、生徒たちは約40分間のあいだ協力して、次々に訪れるクラスメートや保護者に向けて協力して英語でのポスター発表を行いました。

Gaining confidence and improving delivery

With each presentation, their confidence and delivery improved, and they were able to respond thoughtfully to questions from the audience. In addition, these students completed a separate Japanese research project, which they also presented, meaning they managed a significantly heavier workload than many of their peers.

発表を重ねるごとに、生徒たちの自信と発表力は向上し、聴衆からの質問にも思慮深く応えられるようになりました。さらに、これらの学生は別途日本語でも「ゼミナール」の授業を通した個人探究を完了し、その成果も発表しました。つまり2つの言語で、彼らは多くのタスクをかかえながらも見事に探究を深めてきたのです。
