【インターナショナルコース】PDWC2026 – Our Connections are Our Treasures

2月6日〜2月12日に、高校生がパーラメンタリーディベート（英国議会方式の即興ディベート）を通して国際文化交流を行う大会（PDWC: Parliamentary Debate World Conference & Competition 2026）が対面で開催されました。クラーク記念国際高校東京キャンパスからは、インターナショナルコースの1, 2, 3年生3名が参加しました！引率したPeter先生がクラーク生の大会での活躍をご紹介します。

Meeting friends from other schools and volunteer youth ambassadors

This year, three of our students participated in the PDWC in Kumagaya, Saitama! We arrived on February 5, and were warmly greeted by the volunteer youth ambassadors who helped us settle in with minimal fuss. We were treated, along with all other participants, to a wonderful welcome dinner and orientation and we made many wonderful connections with everyone!

今年も東京キャンパスのインターナショナルコース生3名が、埼玉県熊谷市で開催されたPDWCに参加しました。2月5日に現地に到着すると、ボランティアのユースアンバサダーたちが温かく出迎えてくれ、スムーズな受け入れをサポートしてくれました。他の参加者全員とともに素晴らしい歓迎ディナーとオリエンテーションに参加し、皆と多くの素晴らしいつながりを築くことができました！

A hard-won victory

Practice debates followed on the second day, and students suddenly realized the reality of debating other students who they had never met before on topics that hadn’t previously thought about. We were fortunate to win one of our debates so the students were able to feel the benefits of their hard work in our weekly debate class.

2日目は模擬討論が行われ、生徒たちは、これまで会ったことのない相手と、これまで考えたこともないテーマについて議論するという現実を、突然実感することになりました。幸運にも1つの討論で勝利を収めることができ、生徒たちは毎週の討論授業で積み重ねてきた努力の成果を実感することができました。

Strong sense of relief and satisfaction

The closing ceremony was held that afternoon and everyone there felt a strong sense of relief and satisfaction at the work they had done! For the next two days, students participated in cultural acitivites and short trips to Kawagoe and Tokyo. Thank you PDWC for an amazing life changing experience that will stay with the students for the rest of their lives.

その日の午後閉会式が行われ、参加した全員が、自分たちの成し遂げた仕事に対して大きな安堵感と達成感を抱きました！その後の2日間、生徒たちは文化体験活動や、川越や東京への小旅行に参加しました。PDWCの皆様、生徒たちの人生に長く残る、素晴らしい人生を変えるような体験をありがとうございました。
