【文化祭】Adam先生によるAmbi祭2025リポート

クラーク記念国際高等学校 東京キャンパスでは、クラーク博士が残した「Boys, be ambitious!」の言葉から、文化祭を「Ambi祭」と呼んでいます。10月末に実施したAmbi祭の出店の様子を、アダム先生がお届けします。

Behind the scenes: the making of the Tokyo Clark Bunkasai

Here at the Tokyo Campus, students are very busy transforming their homerooms into a totally new experience for our visitors. This year, each room has its own selected element, like fire, water, air, etc.

東京キャンパスでは、生徒たちが来訪者に向けて教室を全く新しい体験の場へと変えるために大忙しです。今年は各教室が火、水、空気など、それぞれ独自の「エレメント」を選んでいます。

School festivals are not universal

Though Canadian schools have festivals to celebrate our culture in like Halloween parties, Valentine’s Day card giving, Easter egg painting, and Christmas recitals we don’t have a festival quite like this. A festival where the students are put in charge to manage themselves, and create an experience for others.

カナダ人である私にとって、この文化祭「Culture Festival」は興味深い学校行事です。カナダの学校ではハロウィンパーティーやバレンタインデーのカード交換、イースターエッグペインティング、クリスマス発表会など自国の文化を祝う行事はあるものの、これほどの規模の祭典はありません。生徒たちが自ら運営を担い、他者への体験を創り出す祭典なのです。

Learning how to work together 

Students come to school to learn. Learning is accomplished by more than just reading a textbook or taking notes. During the creation of this festival, students learn leadership, teamwork, and more. Each class has an allowance.

生徒は学ぶために学校に来ます。学びは教科書を読むことやノートを取るだけでは達成されません。文化祭の制作過程で、生徒たちはリーダーシップやチームワークなどを学びます。各クラスには予算が割り当てられています。

Collaborate and make something truly special

They can purchase props and supplies, but must decide carefully what they need and work within their budget. This festival enables students to utilize their talents and skills effectively. The teams call upon those who can produce exceptional results to collaborate and make something truly special.

小道具や備品を購入することは可能ですが、必要なものを慎重に判断し、予算内で活動しなければなりません。文化祭は生徒たちが自らの才能や技能を効果的に活用する機会となります。各チームは優れた成果を生み出せる仲間に協力を求め、真に特別なものを創り上げるのです。
