【文化祭】留学中の生徒とのライブセッション

クラーク記念国際高等学校 東京キャンパスでは、クラーク博士が残した「Boys, be ambitious!」の言葉から、文化祭を「Ambi祭」と呼んでいます。10月末に実施したAmbi祭では、オーストラリアのブリスベンにあるスプリングフィールドにいる生徒に留学中の様子を聞くライブセッションを行いました。今回はそれをAdam先生が紹介します。

アンビ祭当日のステージでは、オーストラリアのブリスベンにあるスプリングフィールドに留学中の仲間たちとZoomで生中継するセッションに臨みました。

Interesting questions about life in Australia

留学中の5名がインタビューに参加してくれました。日本にいる生徒たちがオーストラリアでの生活、ホームステイの様子、日常について興味深い質問を投げかけました。ベジマイトのような食べ物への様々な体験や反応を直接聞くことができました。驚くべきことに、回答は実に多様でした。

A window into a new world

This is an interesting experience for Japanese students who have never been abroad. It created a window into a new world: study and life abroad. Each student had a unique take on their experiences, which must lead to more curiosity about what life abroad must be like.

海外経験のない子どもたちにとって、これは興味深い体験です。留学と海外生活という新たな世界への窓を開きました。生徒一人ひとりが独自の視点で体験を捉え、海外生活の実態への好奇心をさらに深めているはずです。

See your own culture in a new light

Having come from Canada, I can attest that experiencing diverse cultures is vitally important to growing as an individual. Without a doubt, these students are expanding their awareness of themselves. Having a cross-cultural experience forces you to see your own culture in a new light.

カナダ出身者として断言できるのは、多様な文化を体験することが個人の成長に極めて重要だということです。間違いなく生徒たちは自己認識を広げつつあります。異文化体験は、自らの文化を新たな視点で捉え直すことを迫るのです。

The study abroad program is a perfect opportunity for students from any course to get their feet wet with life experience.
留学プログラムは、どのコースの生徒にとっても人生経験を積む絶好の機会です。
