【インターナショナルコース】高田馬場で学ぶ留学生に取材しよう

クラーク記念国際高等学校東京キャンパスがある新宿区は、世界各国出身の人たちが働いたり学んだりしている、日本で最も国際的な地域の一つです。インターナショナルコースのプロジェクト型学習では、近隣の教育機関で学ぶ留学生との交流も行っています。今回はカナダ出身のアダム先生が、Level 3の生徒と行った校外学習の様子をご紹介します。

Get a glimpse of learning beyond high school

We took a trip to visit the Waseda Foreign Language College. Our students got to see firsthand what post-secondary education has to offer. There, they watched classes that taught Idioms, English vocabulary taken from Movies, and a class that focuses on IELTS (International English Language Testing System).

インターナショナルコースのレベル3のPBLでは、早稲田外語専門学校を訪問しました。生徒たちは高等教育の現場を直接体験し、イディオム（慣用句）や映画から学ぶ英単語、IELTS（アイエルツ）対策授業を参観しました。

A window to diverse cultures

The Clark International students also had a chance to meet groups of the WFLC students and interview them. This was a perfect opportunity to meet students from different countries. This interaction creates a window to diverse cultures and helps expand the awareness of students who have yet to travel abroad.

クラーク国際生たちは、早稲田外語専門学校の学生の皆さんのグループと出会い、インタビューする機会も得ました。これは異なる国々の生徒と交流する絶好の機会でした。この交流は多様な文化への窓となり、まだ海外旅行の経験がない生徒たちの視野を広げる助けとなります。

Review, reflect, and share what you learned

Our students prepared lists of their own unique questions, practiced with each other before visiting, and recorded the variety of answers they received while there. They will put their answers and field trip experiences together to make presentations. These presentations will help them to review, reflect, and share what they learned from this trip.

生徒たちは各自独自の質問リストを作成し、訪問前に互いに練習を重ね、現地で得た多様な回答を記録しました。これらの回答と見学体験をまとめ、プレゼンテーションを作成します。この発表を通じて、今回の見学から学んだことを振り返り、考察し、共有する手助けとなるでしょう。

Buzzing with joy

The Clark students were a little nervous at first because they had never been to this college before. By the time they had to return to the Tokyo Campus, they were buzzing with joy because they had left the comfort of their classroom and made contact with people from many different countries. This is part of what the International course is all about.
