【インターナショナルコース】Quest Cup 2024「社会課題探究部門」Social Change English✨ 英語でプレゼンに挑戦！
クラーク記念国際高等学校東京キャンパスのインターナショナルコースには、木曜日の午後に「Presentation Upper」というクラスをおこなっています。このクラスでは、教育と探求社が手掛ける探究学習プログラムの「ソーシャルチェンジ・イングリッシュ」を仲間と協力して目指してきました。今回は見事、東京キャンパスから全国大会に出場した「team hasu」の活躍の様子を、担当したLewis先生がご紹介します！
Reusing PET bottles as a water catcher for umbrellas
In our Presentation Upper class, students identify their own social issues and explore ideas for solving them both inside and outside the school. Over the past year, each team has developed a proposal for a solution that would bring a smile to someone in need. All teams then participated in the preliminary rounds, and the quality of all presentations in the contest was very high.
「Presentation Upper」のクラスでは、生徒たち自身が社会課題を見つけ、その課題を解決するためのアイディアを校内外で探究します。この1年間、困っている人が笑顔になるような解決策の提案をチームごとに練ってきました。そして全チームが予選に参加し、コンテストに参加したすべてのプレゼンテーションの質はいずれも非常に高かったです。
More eco-friendly alternative to the plastic bags
The team from Clark Tokyo Campus did a fantastic job. ’Team hasu’’s idea was to reuse plastic bottles as umbrella water catchers. It is a more environmentally friendly alternative to the plastic umbrella bags that are placed at the entrances of schools, stores, and buildings on rainy days. They spent weeks testing their idea and collecting data through surveys.
クラーク東京キャンパスのチームは素晴らしい活躍でした。「team hasu」のアイディアは、ペットボトルを傘の水受けとして再利用することでした。雨の日、学校や店舗やビルの入り口に置いてある傘用のビニール袋にかわる、より環境に優しい方法です。生徒は何週間もかけて自分たちのアイディアをテストし、アンケートも行ってデータを集めました。
Inspiration to us all✨
Although Clark Tokyo Campus was unsuccessful, we were all very proud of the team. Their team work and effort was an inspiration to us all. Students came to school on their vacation days and even stayed back after school to work on the project. They may not have won, but they had an unforgettable experience.
クラーク東京キャンパスは惜しくも敗れましたが、私たちは皆、チームを誇りに思いました。「team hasu」のチームワークと一生懸命な姿は、私たち皆に勇気を与えてくれました。生徒たちは休みの日も登校し、放課後も残ってプロジェクトに取り組みました。優勝は逃しましたが、かけがえのない経験をすることができました。
